Youth contact football has been played in the Nelsonville area since the early 70s. Teams such as the Buchtel Little Bucks, Nelsonville Greyhounds and the Murray City Tigers roamed the biddy league grid iron for over 20 years. Due to school consolidation and low participation numbers these teams were not able to continue. Children living in Buchtel, Murray City and Nelsonville all attend the new Nelsonville-York Elementary School and now play for the NYFP.

     Our goal is to teach your child the basic fundamentals needed to play youth football. Along the way they will learn the true meaning of “Team Work, Team Unity, Sportsmanship, Respect and Pride”. Our boosters and coaching staff are very dedicated to our program. They will take all the necessary steps to insure that your child has a wonderful experience while learning and playing the game.

     Our program is composed of two teams, a 3rd & 4th grade team and a 5th & 6th grade team. Games are played on Sundays, but you should always check your calendar or the NYFP web site for changes. We are part of the Tri-County Youth Football League.Members of the league are, Logan, Miller, Trimble, Athens, Federal Hocking, Wellston and Eastern. Our schedule will include a preview game, eight league games and a league tournament at the end of the year.
